Public policy thought on RFID

I am attracted by these words of American Electronics Association: "Good Public Policy Bans Bad Behaviour, Not Technology". It could be found at page three (3) here: http://www.aeanet.org/Publications/AeA_CS_RFID_grad.asp
This newsletter attempts to educate people that RFID is something manageable, what more in the context of privacy. Whilst the points deemed to be general, it gives the idea to people that a good public policy should not ban the technology. In other words, the technology should not be inhibited and stifled. I expected detailed explanation on the lack of control part. However, it is quite general. One of the key points that I would love to mention here is the issue of database security and control which is interlinked indirectly by the radio wave. To date, not many literature has argued on its legitimacy. Perhaps, the world today should look at Japan, on how they embrace technology: as Robert Akinson, Director, Technology & New Economy Project of Progressive Policy Institute said.
