Is Government bad enough on RFID?

I have discovered this blog: http://hasbrouck.org/blog/archives/001138.html. It has advocated certain government's initiatives to embed RFID chip in travelling documents. Again, there were mixed reactions and arguments. Most concerns of the latter were brought by consumer advocates. I think, it is also important for consumers to listen painstakingly what would be the motivation behind the government's initiatives and propose an effective workable policy. The interesting part on this issue is also the existence of diparity between the developed, developing and less developed nations. A time to rethink and restrategise, I hope.
