RFID; Is it sensible for criminals?

I have had read interesting developments on RFID, especially the interrelationship between criminals and human rights. The UK has gone another step ahead on this; to tag criminals in the prison. This interesting write up has briefed the position. Also, the attempt to tag RFID in exam papers. It seems that this technology has gradually crippled and indirectly accepted - despite of the current debate and public consultation paper being opened to the RFID stakeholders. In which, I am keen to await the outcome.
